Getting Licensed

The requirements to obtain a real estate license depends on the state that you live in. In Michigan, you are required to take a 40-hour class which is designed to teach you the fundamentals necessary to pass the Michigan Exam for salespeople.

The subjects covered in the course include property ownership, land use control and regulation, market analysis, financing, agency and disclosure laws, practice of real estate, duties and powers of the bureau, statutory requirements and more.

There are many classes available, via classroom or online.

After you complete the course, you are eligible to take the state exam and formally apply for a license.
