What is MSHDA?
The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) was established in 1966. It provides financial and technical assistance through public and private partnerships to create and preserve safe and decent affordable housing. MSHDA also engages in community economic development activities to develop vibrant cities, towns and villages, and address homeless issues.
MSHDA offers down payment assistance (DPA) programs to first time home buyers up to a $7,500. And can be used with a conventional or FHA mortgage.
There a specific qualifications that must be met to qualify for the money such as an adequate credit score and income limits.
